[Saint Cloth Myth] Hobby Japan 03/09& Figure Oh 132 - Aquarius Camus Surplice

If you're not keen on the renegade gold saints of the Hades Chapter then stop reading now because the myth cloth releases are focussed on them right now. This month sees the release of Capricorn Shura surplice, and next month, along with the Gold Cloth Appendix will be Aquarius Camus.

Now as you can see the faces are interchangable, there's the "yell", the "smirk" and the "grump" (hey if you have better qualifiers, let me know 'kay). The first two will be with the appendix, the third, with the surplice. Now I've already seen people complaining about how they will "have to" get the surplice because the "grump" is the only way they can see Camus and their full myth cloth of the gold cloth version will have to have that face. Well that's too bad, but that's the way it is. Either way, it's a vast improvement from the original face, see for yourself:

[Saint Cloth Myth] Aquarius Camus appendix - Tamashii photos

Thanks to Trevor for those promising pictures of the upcoming appendix of Aquarius Camus.

Looking at it carefully, you can notice the lock of hair doesn't fall over the mask on this. It's an issue for some fans but I think there's a logic behind it. Looking at the last photo of the Aurora Execution position, it would probably be quite awkward to have this lock of hair in the way, which is why I think the concept designers have decided to leave it more as suggestion the way it is done.

You could also argue that he smiles a little more than he should considering how cold his character is but I feel it somehow humanises him a little.

[Saint Cloth Myth] Aquarius Camus Surplice colour photos

First colour photos of Aquarius Camus Surplice, due to be released in February 2009. There are slight aesthetic differences with the appendix such as the hair colour and the shape of it in relation to the mask. The face is also more serious looking. This should give a good array of choices for those who want diversity in the available refreshed faces.

[Saint Cloth Myth] Hobby Japan 2009-01

The stars of this month's Hobby Japan Saint Cloth Mythology pages are first of all Aquarius Camus Appendix in colour and ready to blow your mind away. It's been years since the fans have been hoping for Camus to get a facelift from the terrible original version and now the wait is finally over.

Starting February 2009, and for a mere 2,310 yens, it could be yours. The pose of the Aurora Execution is also quite cleverly thought as the original myth cloth isn't built in such a way that you can do this position due to bits of cloth being in the way.

The second is Thanatos' twin brother, the God of Sleep Hypnos, which you can see if the last few episodes of the Hades Saga that came out recently. As you can also see, as a bonus they have added the little chest which Pandora opens as a child to free the souls of the twin brothers from the seal of Athena. This myth will set you back by 8,190 yens should you choose to order it. I've decided not to myself, simply because I'm lacking room and my interest for the Hades chapter is quite frankly dwindling away.

[Saint Cloth Myth] 2 Aquarius Camus in one month

Well we should have seen that one coming from a mile away. In February 2009, both Aquarius Camus Appendix and Aquarius Camus Surplice myth cloth will be released by Bandai.

If anyone was really looking forward to a relooking for their old Camus myth cloth, they'll have much to choose from. The appendix will come out at ¥2,310 and the surplice at ¥5,250.

Not much else to say as those prototypes don't really show much, so keep an eye out for pre-orders. The ones for the appendix are already available from Hobby Japan.

[Saint Cloth Myth] Appendix Series Volume 3 - Scorpio Milo and Aquarius Camus Prototypes

Whoah, look at that, at last some decent face for one of the most charismatic Gold saints: Aquarius Camus.

We'd already seen what the Appendix for Scorpion Milo would be as it's been available for all to see since the Tamashii Nations last March, but Camus was really up in the air. There was even speculation he may be released as a renegade. Clearly this won't be the case, and all the better as they've also made it in a position he can't actually take with just the myth cloth. That's very well thought of from Bandai and will definitely enrich our collections.

I can't see if those scans reveal a release dat. I would speculate for a March 09 release though as this would follow the pattern of the previous appendixes.
