[Saint Cloth Myth] Official Release Dates for December

Well we know when the most expected myth of the second half of 2007 will be released... it'll be much earlier than I expected in fact. See for yourself:

- V2 "reborn cloth" Bronze boxset: 8 December
- Beta star Hagen of Merak: 15 December Edit from 30 November: Looks like it's now been pushed back to 22 December. Don't you love Bandai and their ever changing release dates...

Some folks may even have it for Christmas (E: if you live in Japan :/) (I won't but that's ok)

[Saint Cloth Myth] Hagen of Merak - Preview of boxart

Quick preview of what the back of the box for Hagen will look like. The frontal shot is definitely more promising than what we've seen so far, though the hair at the front still kind of look like pasta. I think it's fair to say that seeing as it comes out in a month, what you see now is pretty much what you'll get.

This figure has had a surprising little amount of photos published. It's never appeared in toy shows even when Baian did. Very strange, it almost feels like there's something Bandai is trying to keep hidden from us but for the life of me, I really cannot tell what it is.

Thanks to M and Cellsenshi for the photo

[Saint Cloth Myth] Figure Oh 118

Not an awful lot to say on this one. I was hoping we'd get a couple of new pictures of Hagen but all we get is the one we've seen before. Mind you if that means we keep the surprise for the end, why not.

In any case, that's just a few more pictures of the Casual clothes and the bronze boxset.

Thanks to Sorrento for those.

[Saint Cloth Myth] Hobby Japan 2008 - 01

Well the first scans of Hobby Japan are out so let's see what new things we're being shown this time.

Though before we do that, let me show two official shots of the appendixes for Leo Aiolia and Aries Mu:

We know they will be released in February 2008 (see announcement below), one for the price of ¥1,890 like the first four the other for ¥2,310. there is no real indication why Mu will be more expensive (and sadly the feature from Hobby Japan does not leave us any the wiser on this but I'm sure we'll find out in time)

Let's move on to the scans from Hobby Japan. What transpires from this is the complete compatibility of the parts from Aiolia appendix onto the myth cloth version to make it less bulky. Of course this means that if you want to do that and display the appendix, you'll have to get yourself two of them but for my part, I'll do just like I did for Seiya and simply change the head. Still it's very well thought of even if all parts will be made of PVC.

The second page shows little new. The set of the first 5 bronze cloths will be released with necks that can be used to adapt the heads of the V3. One can regret that they just have not issued a new head, this would probably have me think about maybe acquiring this...

As for the casual clothes, there seems to be a large belt system to allow for the pandoras to be placed on top of the other in the manner done by Shiryu when he goes to Jamir to have the cloths repaired by Mu. There is also a part which can be adapted to the display stands as I doubt they can stand by themselves with the pandora on the back without falling over.

Finally the photograph of Hagen shows nothing that we have not seen before. I'm still hoping they will refine the hair on the shoulders as it really looks like tagliatelli there ;)

A big thanks to green0540 (all4seiya), M & Tsume (ma-deesse) for the photos

[Saint Cloth Myth] Beta Star Hagen of Merak - First Pictures

Well, there they are, the first visuals of what is probably the most expected myth cloth of the year, something Bandai probably knew, or they would not have released him in December.

Anyway, the Beta Star, Hagen of Merak was technically supposed to be the second God Warrior to be released. Presumably there was a logic to their order of release, which got blown out when Syd was released "earlier". The character in the series isn't really the most exciting or interesting character, in fact he's pretty much nothing more than a spoilt brat who can't seem capable of much outside his own training ground. However, his God Robe is absolutely superb. The mixture of Fire and Ice is very well blended with the silver and red and getting a Robe from Sleipnir, the 8-legged horse was no easy task.

So, what about this myth cloth then? Well it seems this is still a prototype, and I for one very much hope it is because I'm a bit disappointed by the face and hair, which I find essential in the proper rendering of a Saint Seiya character into myth cloth. The God Robe itself is superb, the object form seems rather skinny, but maybe I've been looking at too many picture of its vintage counterpart. I note they're using a support mechanism similar to the object form of Cygnus V3. It's a shame it's done in silver, I would have thought after the transparent piece included in Kryshna's box, they would have emulated the system to make additional pieces like this less obvious. Hopefully this will change.

No, what really bothers me is the face. I really can't recognise Hagen on there, he looks too nice and these locks on his shoulders are just wrong. Considering the time they had to design this one, this is a bit disappointing but we'll see, perhaps there will be significant changes before he comes out for Christmas...

Thanks to Shido for the pictures

[Saint Cloth Myth] Closing of 2007 Calendar

With the appearance of the placeholder for Beta Hagen and the Boxset of the Bronze saints V2, we now know when everything is due to be released

Hagen of Merak is, bizzarely, due to be released in the beginning of December. Which means, the most expected myth cloth of the second half of 2007 will probably be there for Christmas. Priced at ¥5,040, one has to wonder what else will the box include as there is technically no more pieces or extras than Syd or Siegfried. Hopefully the first visuals won't take too long to appear

The Boxset of the Bronzes V2 will be released at the end of December. We are yet to find out the exact contents of this set, so far we know that there will be the 5 Bronzes V2, with possibly an improved body and maybe cloth (highly speculating here), 5 display stands and "a surprise bonus", which as you may expect, is anyone's guess what it is... Hopefully not Athena, that would make me regret to not have pre-ordered it...

[SCM] Beta Star - Hagen of Merak confirmed

Well it's definitely going to be there, and here's the first reliable piece of information about it (Thanks to M and Tidkong for the info):

As previously mentioned, it should be released in December 2007 at the price of ¥5,040. Why more than Siegfried and Syd is a mystery but hopefully we'll find out soon enough

[SCM] Siren Sorrento Myth Code

Okay, our dear friend... umm.. Sorrento ;) gives us the code found on the box for Poseidon's General Siren Sorrento:

It's a little harder to figure out than the usual codes this one but I think it makes sense why it's this way. If you read the greek letters backwards you find a sentence in German that reads:

ein wildes pferd lauft durch das himmels gewölbe und das meer
Which means something like
A wild horse running through the vault of the skies and the seas
A quick look at Wikipedia confirms my suspictions. This refers to the 8-legged Horse Sleipnir, the totem of Beta Star, Hagen of Merak. Hagen being a Germanic name, the code being in german does make sense.

It's coming people, soon it will be with us. I can't wait myself ^^)
