[Saint Cloth Myth] Figure Oh 115 & Hobby Japan 10

Well blimey, I was expecting these tomorrow but I guess we won't complain to have them a day early.

Figure Oh 115:

Finally pictures of Syd without his helm on. I must admit, I'm a bit at two minds with the face. On the one hand, it's the right hair colour (compared to Sorrento for example) but on the other, the hair looks a little too rough, almost like it could have used a little more detailing. Also I find the forehead a wee bit too high. Still, he is very recognisable, and so much better than the vintage version as can be seen on the second picture.

Like for Siegfried, we can see that there will be a "sapphire" included as well as the Odin badge to put on the (white) display stands. Another plus point is the incredible amount of choice for hands. The photos from Hobby Japan show the whole range and it's going to be hard to make a choice as far as displaying is concerned...

As a side note, the first Tamashii photo for Kryshna can also be seen.

Thanks to Itigo from all4seiya for the scans.

Hobby Japan 10:

As I said we can see all the hands which will be included with Syd, included a flat hand, all claws out as in the introductory scene of the Asgard chapter when Syd attempts to slice Athena's throat. Personally I can't wait to try both the Viking Tiger Claw position and the Blue Impulse (sans claws this time).

Now the real surprise with this batch is the fact that the next series of Appendixes will in fact include Aries Mu... From there we can potentially assume that the series will also include Scorpion Milo to complete the Trinity Position. Amusingly, that's also the second appendix with a revised Rosary. I hope that once the painting is done, the new face for Mu will be more resembling the original than the child-like face which is included in the original myth box.

Originally the speculated 4 characters to be released in the next Appendix series were to be Aiolia, Dohko with his tattoo on his back and Shun. Word had it that Ikki would also be released but there never was real evidence that this was the case. So should be expect a whooping 4 gold saints to come? Aiolia, Mu, Dohko and presumably Milo? I'm sure we'll find out in due time.

[SCM] Siren Sorrento Box Art

Due to be released on the 11 August, Sorrento is the third marina to be released of the Saint Cloth Myth series. Although we have been kindly given the code on the box some days ago now, we were yet to see the whole box. This is now corrected (thanks to itigo from the all4seiya forum).

The photo of the myth and the drawing contrast in their positions and attributes. We see the myth without wings or flute but wearing the cape, while the drawing holds the flute and has wings on the back (and the right hair colour, which stands out quite a bit with the two side by side).

[SCM] Siren Sorrento Myth Code

Okay, our dear friend... umm.. Sorrento ;) gives us the code found on the box for Poseidon's General Siren Sorrento:

It's a little harder to figure out than the usual codes this one but I think it makes sense why it's this way. If you read the greek letters backwards you find a sentence in German that reads:

ein wildes pferd lauft durch das himmels gewölbe und das meer
Which means something like
A wild horse running through the vault of the skies and the seas
A quick look at Wikipedia confirms my suspictions. This refers to the 8-legged Horse Sleipnir, the totem of Beta Star, Hagen of Merak. Hagen being a Germanic name, the code being in german does make sense.

It's coming people, soon it will be with us. I can't wait myself ^^)

[Saint Cloth Myth] Figure Oh & Hobby Japan September 2007

Oh there's some good stuff this month. Not quite as much as I was hoping but still.

Let's first start with the scans from Hobby Japan:

There's yet more images of Sorrento, who still does not quiiiite have the right colour of hair but that hardly matters at this point. He still looks amazing. Some little nitpicking details we could point out: There's few pairs of hands, which will restrict the amount of positions, even though he does hardly ever do anything other than play his flute. You can also notice that the leg parts are in two parts, one in metal, the other in PVC, which shows rather considerably on these pictures. Still I'm guessing those who have ordered this Myth should be pleased with their purchase.

Then we have a first clear view of the prototype for the Appendix of Aiolia. He is seen doing is part in the trinity posture for the Athena Exclamation attack. Does this mean we should expect appendixes of Milo and Mu in the near future? Time will tell. I would have thought if they were to do an appendix of Milo, it would include a slightly more convincing "Scarlet Needle" hand... At any rate, even though there is no paint applied to this prototype, it is already obvious how tremendously improved the myth cloth will be once this is ready. I, for one, am looking forward to it. It appears that it will include two faces (like the others), a front piece with helmet / diadem, another with just hair, and whilst only can be seen, we can suppose that there will be two identical back-hair pieces as well. It's hard to tell if the armour will be adaptable on the myth but looking at the design, I would say it is highly probable this will be so.

Finally, a new angle of Syd of Mizar with the Object form of his God Robe. The Object is quite a piece of art I have to admit, despite the back-legs which I find a little too thin or even disproportionate compared to the front legs. I would need to see how it looks like in the anime again to compare really. Sadly, the photograph of Syd is too similar to the one we saw a few weeks ago so we are yet to discover what he looks like with the lower jaw of the helm attached as well as without his helm on.

Let's have a look at Figure Oh now:

Well we start with a better view of Syd, but sadly the photos, quite certainly the official ones from Tamashii, are identical to those in HJ. I think the text in Japanese underneath "next" says something along the lines of "Second most expected warrior by the public!! From Asgard, the lands of the frozen north" but my translation may be off a little.

Then more pictures of Sorrento, not dissimilar to those in HJ. Two more can be seen, one of them with Siegfried, which, of course, is in the wrong position as they should be heading off towards the Alpha Star face to face with Siegfried's hands tied behind Sorrento's back, but I guess such a posture is not easily doable.

The Pandora's boxes are (presumably) to be included with the Appendix Casual Clothes series to be released, it would seem, in November. Note that the Pegasus Object is that of the second version (in the anime), and not of the (more popular) third and final version.

Finally, just one more image of the display stands B, which I'm still trying to decide whether to buy or not...

[SCM] Tokyo Toy Show - Syd, Shion & Isaak Pictures

One more image posted by Sorrento (Thanks dude ^^) of Syd of Mizar, not that it shows much more than what we've already seen but I thought it may give a better idea of the colours seeing as many people seem to be complaining about them (I don't but then again I like this Myth)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

There is a further image of Shion with his Aries object, Kraken Isaak on the right, Lyra Orphée at the back and the box of the new black Display Stands.

Seen like this, Syd looks even more like a dark green tiger, which corresponds very well to the sabertooth tiger his God Robe is suppose to represent.

[SCM] Figure OU + Hobby Japan June 07

Well actually I think it's technically the respective August issues, but let's not go there.

First thing to mention is the Casual Clothes Series (or whatever the official name will be, it might even be part of the next appendix series, who knows...). Only one photo for now, which shows the clothes for Pegasus Seiya and Dragon Shiryu, their Pandora's box (with a small scale model of their cloth Version 2, go figure...?) and the shoes. I'm still confused as per whether it's a whole new body or not seeing as they both have bandaged forearms and Shiryu's face looks different somehow... maybe it's just the angle of the photograph. Anyway see for yourself:

Then we move on to the black display stands. Not much else to say here, so just have a look:

Third item of notice is a teaser about the next appendix series that says "oh look, we're currently working on redisigning Leo Aiolia's face mask. Well that's nice but personally I would have preferred a visual of the new face. Well at least we know they'll release him... ehm, eventually. No release date yet. Check it out:

Finally the best for the end. The "Age of Myth" pictures of Siren Sorrento. Here they are before I comment on them:

Well I've not bought Kraken Isaak or Sea Dragon Kanon because not being a huge fan of the Marinas, I saw little point of collecting them (saving money's a good thing right?). Well that was until this came out. Mama-mia this myth us superb! The colour of the hair is a little off still but the details on the flute, the fingers, the eyes, the scale it's all there, it's Sorrento! It's a bit of a dilemma really, we'll see what comes off it when it comes out. I'll try to recenter my focus on Syd seeing as it's already preordered and we've not even seen a prototype yet ;)

[SCM] Next Releases

Well it's been a while since I was able to spare time and write in there. Apologies if any of you actually follow this blog.

We'll start with what is now very old news, but still quite exciting for those who like these little extras that Bandai keep coming up with. There is a new series to be released, allegedly called "Casual Clothes Series". the official name is yet to be confirmed as there is still no release date or official announcement from Bandai. Yet last month we were offered a glimpse of this new series. So far we'll know that this will include clothes for Pegasus Seiya and Dragon Shiryu, including shoes (as opposed to the feet protection of their cloth) and a dragon tattoo in Shiryu's back. It appears there will also be Pandora's boxes with a small model of their respective cloth inside.

Here are some photos:

There is no indication whether this will include a whole new body or simply extra parts to add to existing Saint Cloth Myth's bodies. More information will be posted when it becomes available...

Update in the Planning Release:

- 30 June 2007: Aries Shion Surplice:

- July 2007: Black Display Stands:

These are meant to be used with either the 3 judges of the underworld with their special attachments like in Pandora's Myth Box or as regular display stands with a purple mat for any other SCM that can be adapted on them.

Siren Sorrento Scale:

This is the first visual of the 3rd Marina, Siren Sorrento. So far it looks good, except for the wrong hair colour. Visuals with the flute still to come...

- August 2007: Zeta Star Syd of Mizar (no visuals yet)
- September 2007: Crysaor Kryshna Scale (no visual) & Shun / Hades Premium Cloth

So finally we have another God Warrior coming up in the calendar with the confirmation from the most serious import stores on line when they added it to their preorder list. 11 months after Siegfried of Dubhe, one should hope that this won't become the standard period between each God Warrior...
